Bombs and Gunfire hit Indonesia.

As reported by BBC, atleast six people

have been killed by a series of bomb blast and continous shooting in Indonesia capital, Jarkarta. The attacks hit locations and a shopping centre close to UN offices. The Police says five assailants have been confirmed dead but no arrest have been made in connection to the attack.

Indonesia president, Joke Widodo ask residents to be calm but condemned the "act of terror".

       "We all are grieving for the fallen victims
        of this incident, but we also condemn the
        act that has disturbed the security and
        and spread terror among our people".

The attack started with initial blasts outside the Sarinah shopping centre in Jakarta,  followed by more than an hour of continous shooting and blasts.

     

People's Democratic Party condemns former information commissioner's accounts on N82 million spent in honouring Professor Wole Soyinka.

The People's Democratic party, Felix Obuah,  made a statement on wednesday condemning the account given by the former information commissioner of Rivers state, Ibim Semenitari on the alleged N82 million spent in honouring Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka.

PM News reports that the account given by a former Rivers State commissioner has been described by Peoples Democratic Party as been "hollow and childish".

According to a statement made by Beke Anyalewechi on behalf of the former commissioner,  the N82 million was used for  dance drama by the university of Portharcourt Arts village, Great Singha and his highlife band, set design, stage lightening and costume design, Custom design and stage property, dinner, transportation and accommodation of guests from outside Nigeria and outside Rivers state, decorations, travels and logistics etc.

The Party(PDP) said that Soyinka had allowed his name to be used to steal public funds paid by taxpayers and should be accounted for.

Woman Murdered in her lover's apartment.

According to Nhyira FM, a middle - aged woman was found dead in what is suspected to be murder at Buokrom, Ghana.

The Landlord of the house who spoke to Nhyira FM on Wednesday, said he knocked at his tenant's door on Monday to ask for utility bills but no one responded to his knock.  Instead there was a foul smell coming out from the entrance of the room. He had to peep through one of the windows of his tenant, Baffour who is the deceased boyfriend. This led to the discovery of the almost decomposed body of the deceased known as Suzy. He called other tenants, and the forcely broke the door. Baffour who is nowhere to be found, is suspected to be the murderer of late Suzy.

The African footballer of the year, Pierre - Emerick Aubameyang has spoken for the first time since the Cote d'ivore midfielder Yaya showed his disappointed over the award given to the Gabonese star.

Aubameyang has replied Yaya after he questioned his award criteria by the confederation of Africa football. He says he doesn't care whatever Yaya feels about his award and he's not interested.

At Dortmund's winter training camp in Dubai, the Gabonese star said he will not let Yaya Toure spoil his success.

       "I really don't know why he said that in the
        first place".
        but I don't get annoyed with, and by now
        I don't even care about it. I am not
        interested in it".

Reckless bus driver escapes leaving passengers trapped.

A ghastly car crash just happened now at Rupuokwu roundabout(New road) leaving passengers seriously injured. 

 A 18 seater bus ran into a CRV jeep around rupuokwu roundabout. The reckless driver absconded immediately,

leaving the injured passengers bleeding and crying for help. A family of four, a husband, wife and four children were badly injured. The injured woman is in a very critical condition and has been rushed to a nearby hospital with the rest of her family. 

Daybira News was at the scene to interview the occupant of the CRV jeep with his wife who escaped being hurt.

            "The traffic warden stopped   

              vehicles and signalled to those of us 

              coming from the right hand side to

              move. As I was driving, from no where I 

              heard a bang at the back of my car. The 

              the back windscreen of my car was 

              destroyed. The bus driver on sighting

              what happened, he absconded leaving

              all the passengers trapped in the bus".

An eyewitness who took the woman to the hospital told daybira news that immediately the accident happened, the reckless driver took to his heels leaving the woman and her little baby bleeding profusely in front of the squeezed bus. They had to take an iron to destroyed the front door to bring her.

               "I pray the woman survives because

                her two legs are condemned, you will 

                even see her bones protruding." 

Professor Wole Soyinka warns federal Government.

Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka has advised federal government not to relent it's efforts in fighting against corruption. He said the federal government should be ready for reprisals from people in cesspit of corruption.

The professor further expressed worries at how the funds meant for the purchase of arms to fight Boko Haram insurgency was squandered without considering the helpless victims who have lost so much and the soldiers fighting at the forefront of the battle fields.
        "Corruption fights back and the hardest
          Fighters are those already within the
          Cesspit of corruption.
         
         The fight is on two levels. One is directly
         against corruption and then you have to
         prepare for the counter - attack that is
         where we are at the moment.... "He said

Three people feared dead while others injured.

 Three people lost their lives in a fatal crash involving a Benz bus and two taxi cabs in Ho, Ghana on saturday afternoon. The Benz bus was

descending the Galenkui hill, when it ran into the taxis.

Sian Blake Murderer Arrested.

The murderer of the British actress, Sian Blake and her two children, Zachary and Anon, have been nabbed by police in Takordi, Ghana.

Arthur Simpson Kent had been declared wanted since the bodies of his partner Sian and their two children Zachary and Amon were found on Tuesday buried in shallow graves in their own backyard. The murderer, Arthur Simpson Kent was found hiding among rocks in a coastal town.

Adamawa communities on alert

Precautionary measures have been put in place in Adamawa State by the State Governor. The state commissioner for health, Dr Fatima Atiku made this known to Newsmen.
     "His Excellency has directed that we fully
       mobilise the public on precautionary
       measures and early detection. The disease
       is caused by rats; our people should
       Imbibed the culture of hygiene by covering
       their food and foodstuff". Said Atiku.
He also stated that isolation centres and disease control officers in the local government areas bordering Taraba had been placed on alert just incase of an outbreak.

Couple Reunites on Hospital bed

A couple who survived a fatal car crash shared a photo of their reunion on a hospital bed. Arika stovall and Hunter Hanks narrowly escaped death when they were driving back to Nashville, Tennessee, from Jacksonville, Tennessee.

 They were lucky not to have slammed into a concrete slab.

Former PDP chairman in Akwa Ibom State,  Chief Otu Ita Otoyo, and former Senator, Aloysius Eton have decamped to All People's Congress(APC). They moved alongside a former member of the house of representatives, Eseme Eyibo, and many others. They were welcomed into the party at a prayer summit and reception held in  honour of Obong Umana Umana, a candidate of APC in 2014 election.

Chief Otoyo said the major reason decampees left the party(PDP) was because the party deviated from the ideas upon which it was founded. He encouraged people of Akwa Ibom to embrace "Change".

         "We brought change to Akwa Ibom in 2007
           but that change has been hijacked by a
           few people for themselves. I screamed but
           but nobody listened, today, Akwa Ibom
           people have decided for change and as
           such have moved to a new party", he said.

          

Shoprite shopping mall attacked by Armed youths

The shoprite shopping mall in Warri was attacked by armed youths alleged to be devotees to the suspended chairman of Uvwie local government area of Delta state, Mr Henry Baroon.

According to a reliable source, Mr Henry had a brawl with a naval officer which made him to alert the community youths. They stormed the premises of shoprite shopping mall, and started beating the sales representatives and customers. They injured some customers and disposed them of their valuables.

It was a management staff of shoprite that alerted the police. The police team arrived the mall and arrested one suspect, while others escaped.

Fake dancing promoter arrested.

A fake dancing promoter, Damilola Joseph has been arrested by the police at the Lion Building Division. The fake promoter deceived six women by obtaining their expensive phones, and promising them of winning a dancing competition at an hotel in Victoria island. After collecting the phones, he sold them off and absconded.

The women, suspecting that they've been duped, reported to the DPO CSP Tanaruno in charge of Lion Building division, Lagos Island. The DPO ordered his team to get the suspect at any cost. The suspect was later traced to a hotel in Lagos Island. He has been arraigned before an Igbosere magistrates court.

EFCC besieged the residence of ex - customs boss.

This 2016 is not a good one for most politicians and influential people in Nigeria as EFCC fish out people who took part in squandering the nation's wealth.

The operatives of the economic crime(EFCC) have raided the residence of former comptroller General of customs Abdullahi Dikko Nde.

Positioned around Nde's house on  Ahmed Musa Crescent, Jabi, Abuja, is also operatives of the anti graft agency.

EFCC which was part of the raid from the beginning left Nde's residence to undisclosed destination. But lot of mobile policemen attached to the EFCC are still there.

'I am disappointed' says Yaya Toure

The Ivory Coast captain and Manchester City star Yaya Toure is disappointed for not winning the African footballer of the year award. 

In previous years, the 32 - year old midfielder won the prestigious individual recognition. But this year, he lost out to Pierre Emerick Aubameyang who plays for Borussia Dortmund and he is said to be the first Gabon player to hold the title.

Disappointed Yaya Toure in his words said:

           "I am disappointed but that won't 

            take anything from anybody

            I am sure Andre (Ayew) is 

            also disappointed after what he 

            did last year".

Mean-spirited Employer.

A mean-spirited employer named Mrs Ifeoma Mbakwe disfigured her 9-year old housemaid known as Chinwedu Precious on the 27th of December 2015 at Idowu street, ALagbado area of Lagos State.

The housemaid was rushed to a nearby hospital at Alagbado where is receiving treatment while Mrs Ifeoma has been arrested and arraigned in the court. May God help us...this is really a barbaric act. Viewers discretion is advised....

Recruitment exercise for teachers commences in Edo State

Edo State Government has put smiles on the faces of unemployed graduates as it begins the recruitment of 5,000 teachers for its public primary and secondary schools. 

According to the state's commissioner for education, Gideon Obakhan,who made this known on Thursday while speaking to reporters, he said 50 science and special teachers have been recruited for those with special needs.

The commissioner further states that, induction and orientation programmes have been organised for the teachers. 

Congrats to the unemployed people of Edo State. 

Janet Jackson denies cancer rumuors.

There were rumuors earlier this week that pop star Janet Jackson had throat cancer. Jackson has used her lyrics to deny these rumuors.

According to CNN, Janet Jackson said in a statement on wednesday that she does not have cancer after rumors swirled online about her health on the heel of the singer canceling several concert due to illness.

"The rumors are untrue. I do not have cancer. I am recovering,"Jackson said in a video released on twitter, captioned "from my lips...." and set for her song The Great Forever.
